It is very shallow to think that your ability to relocate abroad will not increase your financial ability, staying in a country like Nigeria where policymakers are so corrupt and nothing really works is more a killer of financial fortune and breakthrough, if you study very well from data an average Nigerian who have sustained some level of finances in his or her bank account, the next move on the mind is to find a way to relocate abroad. The reason for the action is not triggered by some sort of gimmicks or crime action it is just natural because of some factors,
I think the first thing to note is that some don’t relocate solely because of money
Some want to experience:
“When you live in a country like Nigeria where a lot of things are not working, you think that your finances will change when you relocate abroad. You think so because you link your financial problems with the conditions of the country. You assume that changing your location will solve your financial problems.” https://punchng.com/relocating-abroad-will-not-solve-financial-problems/
The above quote was taken from an article in Punch Nigeria is a very wrong assertion. You think changing my location will not solve my financial problems?? Watch this…
If electricity problems can be fixed so many SMEs will pick up. The cost of running and maintaining a generator is just too high imagine spending N50,000 as a small business owner on Fuel and PHCN after crazy bills in a month. How will there be a financial increase that way? Unlike advanced nations take Canada as a case study.
It is very obvious that the writer of that article has a clear bias. (Minimum Wage in Nigeria = NGN18,500 Approx. CAD$66.15) while (Minimum wage in Manitoba, CA = CAD$11.65per hour).
If you are the lazy type, you may not forgive the Nigerian government both past and present should you find your way abroad.
Some Nigerian employers are worsening the whole scenario working & being owed 5months salary, facing crazy traffic in the country and I come home to NO electricity, constant news of policemen killing citizens. Most Nigerians are not migrating because I want to earn millions, but to live where the system WORKS!
Should we talk about the huge decadence in the health sector? The doctors that can not leave the country are leaving the profession, some go into programming, finance, management very little are becoming specialists, we are heading for disaster. Medical doctors are writing foreign exams, why? Because they need to be in a country that has a system that works
As much as we understand the standpoint of adding value to increase one's earning potential, the ‘abroad' agenda is totally uncalled for.
Leave the people abroad out of it, and advise those in Nigeria on how to make more money.
